On Saturday Night, the 15th-seeded LSU Tigers were defeated by No. 11 Alabama, 42-13, with the Alabama quarterback scoring four touchdowns.
From the start, Alabama dominated the game with Milroe scoring a 39-yard touchdown on their first drive. After conceding a field goal, Justice Haynes fought through the opposition and scored a one-yard touchdown. The Tigers only managed to add another field goal before halftime, but Milroe struck again and took a commanding 21-6 lead into the locker room.
LSU's second-half drive began flawlessly, but a Garrett Nussmeier interception in the end zone cost them dearly. An LSU facemask penalty aided Bama, and Milroe eventually scored a 19-yard touchdown to increase their lead to 28-6.
In the fourth quarter, Bama recovered the ball after a forced punt, and Milroe capitalized on the opportunity by finding gaps and scoring a 72-yard touchdown, increasing the lead to 35-6.
The Alabama defense held out until the final seconds of the game before allowing a touchdown.
Milroe found the end zone on 33% of his 12 carries, rushing for 185 yards.
The loss has crushed LSU, who were ranked 15th in the country, and they will need significant assistance to have any chance of making the College Football Playoff.
Bama has won two straight after losing two of their previous three, including a 28-point lead squandered against Georgia before their losing streak.
With losses by No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Miami, they should find themselves in the top-10 in next week's rankings, as Saturday's dominance against their longtime SEC rival was a reminder that they are not going away lightly.
Next week, the Crimson Tide (7-2, 4-2) will host Mercer, while LSU (6-3, 3-2) will travel to Gainesville for a match with Florida.
