Tua Tagovailoa's head injury during a tackle sparks a social media frenzy among dolphins.
The Dolphins won despite Tagovailoa staying in the game.
On Monday night, during the Miami Dolphins' close win over the Los Angeles Rams, Tua Tagovailoa ignited a social media craze.
With about 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Rozeboom intercepted Tagovailoa's pass, causing him to attempt a tackle. However, he ended up sustaining a knee injury to the head during the play.
The tackle attempt did not sit right with fans watching at home, especially for someone who has had serious concussion issues and has vowed to be smarter about using his head during games.
Tagovailoa stated that he did not intend to utilize his head while making the tackle.
The Dolphins emerged victorious in the game with a final score of 23-15. Tagovailoa seemed unharmed following the play. He had a passing performance of 207 yards on 20-of-28 attempts, including one touchdown pass and an interception.
Before the game, Tagovailoa stated that he had no intention of retiring despite suffering his third known concussion.
"He told ESPN that if he had been informed that he couldn't play, he would have taken it into account, but there were no such discussions. He added that he never seriously considered retiring."
Tagovailoa stated that he did not want to be recognized as the "poster boy" for concussions.
Prior to rejoining the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks ago, Tagovailoa stated that he had no desire for the Guardian Cap.
To avoid further injury, he stated that he needed to be more intelligent while playing.
"To succeed in football, you must be smart," he emphasized. "Throughout my career, I've relied on my competitive nature to give me an edge. However, in the professional setting, where the best of the best compete, you must be more available to the team, organization, and players."
