Taylor Swift friendship bracelets caused Caitlin Clark's arm to cut off blood circulation during the Eras Tour.
Swift is Clark's favorite artist.
Although she is a professional athlete, Caitlin Clark's love for Taylor Swift outweighed her concern for her own circulation.
Clark stated that she attended three of Swift's Eras Tour concerts, including two consecutive nights in Indianapolis this month. During these shows, fans showered her with so many friendship bracelets that when she put them all on, it restricted her blood flow.
""I had a lot of bracelets on my arm, but I had to remove them because my circulation was being restricted. People were just tossing their bracelets at me," Clark stated at the Women's Leadership Summit on Tuesday."
Cutting off blood flow to a limb can lead to numbness and potential tissue damage if the flow is stopped for an extended period.
In Indianapolis during Swift's Nov. 1 concert, fans in the stands gave Clark their bracelets.
The starting ticket price for the Nov. 1 concert was around $2,000 before fees among various vendors. However, the price dropped significantly in the days leading up to the concert, reaching $1,271 before fees by Friday morning on Vivid Seats.
Despite earning $76,535 from the WNBA in 2024, it is believed that Clark made significantly more from other sources of income.
Clark was featured on the cover of Time magazine's recent Inspiring Women special edition issue alongside Swift, who were the only two figures on the top row. Clark was the most highly placed athlete among veteran sports icons Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe.
The reappearance of a previous social media post by Clark during her college years has united the fan bases of the two individuals.
"Clark wrote on X on Sept. 24, 2023, welcoming Taylor Swift to the good side with the hashtag #Chiefs Kingdom."
Clark has repeatedly stated that she is a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. She made this declaration following Swift's public announcement of her relationship with Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce in September 2023.
On Sunday, the Chiefs blocked a field goal to beat the Denver Broncos and remain undefeated, prompting Clark to post on X to celebrate her favorite team's win.
During an episode of his podcast, "New Heights," Kelce revealed that he met Clark at one of Swift's concerts.
Caitlin Clark was at the concert and it was fun. I got to meet her and she's awesome. She loves being out there in Indianapolis and says it's a fun city. We're both true Midwesterners to the heart. We played high school, college, and pro ball all out here in the Midwest, and it was cool catching up with her.
"Clark was definitely into the show. She was accompanied by her mom and some friends, and this was likely her third or fourth time watching it. She's a devoted Swiftie."
Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, attended the University of Cincinnati and has spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Chiefs, all in the Midwest.
The University of Iowa's women's college basketball was brought into the limelight by Clark, who hails from West Des Moines, Iowa. Currently, she plays for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.
