Indefinitely, Zion Williamson will be sidelined due to another injury.
Four of the Pelicans' 10 games had already been missed by Williamson.
Zion Williamson's injury bug has returned just as things were starting to improve for him.
The 2019 top overall pick had a 29-point drop in three of his last four games, but it will take some time before he returns to the court.
On Saturday, the New Orleans Pelicans announced that he has been diagnosed with a hamstring strain in his left leg and will be out indefinitely.
Despite missing four games this season, Williamson played a career-high 70 games last season, following a 29-game stint in 2022-23 and sitting out the entire prior season.
In 2021, the Pelicans guaranteed Anthony Davis $193 million despite the missed time early on.
Last year, reports emerged that Williamson disregarded the team's diet and conditioning advice, which led to concerns about his ability to keep up with his teammates on the court.
Williamson admitted that despite being 20 and 22 years old with all the money in the world, staying in top physical shape and eating healthy is difficult.
"I'm at that point now, because of certain things, I'm surrounding myself with wise individuals. I don't want to offend them by saying older, so I'm putting people with wisdom around me. Put me on game to certain things. And just go from there."
Williamson also experienced off-court issues with former adult film actress Moriah Mills, who stated that she "truly cared" for him. Mills also alleged that the two had a sex tape and threatened to sue Williamson for the "injuries he had inflicted on her life."
Williamson's cryptic lyrics from a Notorious B.I.G. song sparked concern among fans about his well-being.
Although Williamson left the line "I can't believe suicide is on my f---ing mind" from his story about Biggie Smalls, he has frequently expressed his admiration for the rapper.
Williamson has been sidelined due to knee, foot, and hamstring injuries.
