On Saturday, during the Canadian Football League's playoffs, Chad Kelly, a former NFL quarterback, sustained a severe leg injury that was so gruesome that his teammates were unable to look at it.
In the third quarter of the Toronto Argonauts' semifinals matchup, Kelly, the team's quarterback, was tackled.
Kelly attempted to rise, but soon realized his right leg was fractured, and he struggled to maintain it.
As his teammates comprehended the gravity of the situation, watching the signal-caller's plight was excruciating.
As Kelly fell to the turf, seemingly in shock, one of his teammates collapsed to the ground, completely distraught by what he had witnessed.

After sustaining this injury, Kelly's night came to an end. He had a batting average of 11-for-22, with a total of 182 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
Despite their loss to the Montreal Alouettes, the Argonauts advanced to the Grey Cup final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Kelly suffered a broken tibia and fibula in his right ankle after Alouettes defensive end Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund landed on his leg while Kelly was running.
On Sunday night, Kelly issued a statement confirming his injuries and anticipating a full recovery within three to six months.
I am deeply grateful to the doctors and medical staff at Montreal General Hospital, my family, teammates, and team ownership for their unwavering support during my experience. The overwhelming support from our fans has been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for all the messages I've received.
"I am incredibly proud of our team for their outstanding win and thrilled that we are heading to the Grey Cup. Although I am disappointed that I won't be able to play, I have complete confidence in the team and staff to bring the cup home. Thank you for your amazing support – I can't wait to see you all soon!"
Kelly, who was the last pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and was nicknamed "Mr. Irrelevant," has been leading the Argonauts since serving a nine-game suspension for violating the league's gender-based violence policy.
In February, a former female assistant strength coach accused Kelly of sexual harassment and is also suing the team for wrongful dismissal.
Since 2022, Kelly has been the reigning Most Outstanding Player in the CFL and has been quarterbacking in the league.
