Dennis Quaid on the importance of faith in overcoming challenges: "It's crucial for everyone"
In July, Dennis Quaid released his first gospel album titled 'Fallen'.
Dennis Quaid is proud of his personal journey with his faith.
Before the release of "Fallen: A Gospel Record For Sinners" DVD, Quaid revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that his faith has been instrumental in helping him overcome every obstacle in his life.
"God has helped me through both hard and good times. I rely on Him during difficult times, and it brings me great joy to do so. We all need that kind of support."
In 2018, "Parent Trap" actor Quaid revealed his cocaine addiction and shared his experience of doing about two grams a day. He was fortunate to have a white-light experience that made him realize the consequences of his actions and the importance of his work.
Quaid, who was raised attending Sunday School, drifted away from religion as he grew older. However, after getting his life back on track, the actor returned to his faith.
"He shared that he reread the Bible and was deeply moved by Jesus' words, which marked the beginning of his personal relationship with Jesus. This relationship has grown over time."
In 1990, I wrote 'On My Way to Heaven' as a tribute to my mother. After completing my rehabilitation from cocaine addiction, I referred to it as 'cocaine school'.
At that time, Quaid wasn't relying on his faith in God, but rather on things that didn't work.
"Getting clean all of that was where the personal relationship started, and it really does fill up the hole. It's a great way to live life," he explained.
Last July, Dennis released his debut gospel record, "Fallen," which was inspired by his own life. He shared this with Planet Chronicle Digital.
""My spiritual journey is depicted in the autobiographical part of the story," he explained."
Quaid stated that faith is crucial to him, asserting, "In essence, it encompasses everything."
"He stated, "It's a God-sized hole that we all possess and fill with various things. This concept is crucial to me as it gives life meaning and purpose. It helps to explain many things that we cannot put into words.""
Last year, after the release of his album "Fallen," Quaid talked about the significance of faith in his relationship with his fourth wife, Laura Savoie.
In 2019, Quaid, 69, met Savoie, 30, at a business event while she was pursuing her second Master's degree at the Texas McCombs School of Business. A year after their meeting, the two got married, and a year later, they combined their business and film expertise to establish Bonniedale Films.
"He stated in 2023 that God is in his relationship with his wife, which is something he had never experienced before."
He added, "We have such a beautiful relationship, and we pray together."
The "Fallen: A Gospel Record for Sinners" DVD is now available.
