Bruce Willis' daughter reveals that he has taught her to appreciate every moment: "There are difficult days."
In 2023, Bruce Willis, known for his role in 'Die Hard,' was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia following his struggle with aphasia.
More than a year after Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, Tallulah Willis shared her thoughts on her father's ongoing battle with aphasia.
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' youngest daughter shared her health journey on the "Today" show, updating fans on Bruce's condition.
Vogue shared a quote from Tallulah earlier this year that moved Kotb, who recognized similarities in her personality and believed they'd make great friends if there were more time.
"Bruce's health is stable, which is good in this situation. Although there are painful days, there is so much love, and it has taught Tallulah to appreciate every moment. She believes that they would be best friends and that Bruce is proud of her."
Hager remarked, "Upon encountering him, one cannot dwell on past or desired outcomes."
"Being in the moment and present is crucial," Tallulah agreed.
In February 2023, Bruce, 69, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) after receiving an aphasia diagnosis the year before.
According to the National Institute on Aging, FTD is caused by damage to neurons in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, resulting in a range of symptoms such as unusual behaviors, emotional problems, communication difficulties, work impairment, and walking difficulties.
In March 2009, he married Emma Heming at their home in Turks and Caicos, and they have two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. Previously, he was married to Moore for 12 years, and they have three daughters together: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.
Earlier this year, Tallulah, 30, disclosed that she was diagnosed with autism as an adult. She admitted that she was unaware of the impact her diagnosis would have on social media when she shared it.
"She said, "I didn't realize it would be this extensive. I was incorrectly diagnosed for many years, and it wasn't until I was 29 that I received my correct diagnosis, which is quite common among adult women.""
She stated, "Although I am high-functioning autistic, my struggles are mainly related to sensory sensitivity rather than communication, which is often misunderstood."
Although Tallulah was "very emotional" upon hearing her diagnosis, she also experienced a sense of "relief" from being able to finally have answers about her health concerns.
"I felt like I hated myself and was broken, but learning that the parts of myself I thought were flaws are actually okay and just need a bit more support was a relief," she said.
"As a result of this experience, I gained more understanding and empathy for myself and my family, as well as for others who may learn from it, to be more gentle and compassionate with themselves."
She has openly discussed her diagnosis in the hope that her experience can benefit others who may require assistance.
"Since I was a baby, I've always had a platform to talk about my experiences, and it was crucial for me to utilize it," she said. "I wasn't sure how to approach the topic or where it came from, but I knew I had a responsibility to make it meaningful. There are so many people like me who are struggling."
