Elle King is unapologetic about revealing her experiences with an abusive relationship with her father, Rob Schneider: "My truth."
Elle King, a country star, previously discussed her childhood trauma on Jelly Roll's wife's podcast.
Elle King, Rob Schneider's daughter, openly shared the difficulties she faces in her relationship with her father.
Last month, King, 35, revealed on her "Dumb Blonde" podcast that she would avoid talking to her father for four or five years, while chatting with Bunnie XO, Jelly Roll's wife. She also discussed some of the "toxic and very silly" situations she experienced as a child.
Bunnie XO's conversation with the country singer did not initially pique her family's interest, but the singer was content with sharing her childhood memories.
"King stated in an interview with People magazine that he never expected his comments to go viral. He was simply discussing his childhood and sharing his truth. He emphasized that his intention was not to harm anyone."
She responded, 'A lot of people commented, "How could she say that about her family?" and "Everything should be kept private." No, it's not. Sometimes you need to express your thoughts and let them out so you don't have to carry them for the rest of your life.'
Although Schneider issued a public apology after the podcast episode, King stated that it holds no significance.
Schneider's representatives did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
"Bunnie revealed to King last month that her dad was one of her childhood crushes. King described their relationship as having a unique ebb and flow, with him becoming the focus of attention after Bunnie released her record, and her dad calling her to warn her not to discuss him in the press."
If she ever spent a summer with her dad, it would be on a movie set. She would simply get lost in the chaos. If she ever made a mistake on set or spoke out of turn, she would face consequences.
King replied, "I never felt a connection until much later in life."
The singer remembered how he was a very heavy child, and his father sent him to fat camp. However, one year, he got into trouble because he injured his ankle and didn't lose any weight.
She added, "Very toxic and very silly."
King recalled that he had begun getting tattoos, but it was extremely hot, so he had to wear sweaters to cover up his body, despite his father's disapproval of any form of self-expression that did not align with his wishes.
"I disagree with many of the things he says. He is talking out of his ass and speaking negatively about drag and anti-gay rights, which is like . . . get f---ed. I want to use this opportunity to say that I disagree with his views."
Elle responded to Bunnie's inquiry about her father's attempts to assist her, stating, "No, he never helped me. I never wanted his help."
He didn't have a great reputation, and I don't want to be associated with him. He's not a nice person. You can't control how others feel or act, but you can control how you react and manage your emotions. Sometimes, I get so angry that I explode, but I try to control my emotions.
I tried every possible approach, but nothing seemed to work. I tried letters, softness, and even shouting, but my dad still forgot about my birthday. I spent my 18th birthday in summer school, where they gave me cupcakes, but when I returned home, my dad still forgot my special day.
