Florence Pugh defended her age gap romance with Zach Braff against "nasty" trolls.
From 2019 to 2022, Zach Braff, 49, and Florence Pugh, 28, were in a relationship.
Florence Pugh felt it "essential" to defend her relationship with Zach Braff.
She revealed that she and her partner were being bullied, and their relationship was private until it became toxic, causing harm to them, their families, and Zach.
"For anyone I'm with, I want to protect them from negative comments about someone I love. It's not pleasant to hear the worst things said about someone I care deeply about. I needed to discuss this."
"Mine and Zach’s relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families, and that’s when I spoke out." — Florence Pugh
Pugh defended Braff multiple times during their four-year relationship. In 2019, the "Don't Worry Darling" actress responded to an Instagram comment about the age gap between the couple.
"And yet he got it," Pugh replied.
In 2020, Elle UK was addressed by Pugh, who stated, "My private life should not be educated by others."
"It's strange that regular people can express such hatred and opinions about a facet of my life that I'm not making public."
Braff and Pugh have an amicable relationship since their split two years ago.
Pugh has revealed to British Vogue that she is in a relationship but is keeping it private.
Pugh stated to the outlet that they are determining their true identity and for the first time, they are not permitting themselves to experience a rollercoaster of emotions. Instead, they are taking time to allow something to develop and become authentic to its core, rather than rushing into it.
"Pursuing the sensation of falling in love is exhilarating, but if that's the only aspect of a relationship you're aware of, that's what you'll focus on. Unfortunately, this approach won't sustain the relationship in the long run."
