The inauguration celebrations for Trump commenced on Monday.
On Sunday night, UFC star Conor McGregor attended a ball before Donald Trump's inauguration and praised him.
In a red-carpet interview with reporters, McGregor expressed optimism about the future of the U.S., as reported by BG on the Scene.
"I'm thrilled to be here and have a positive outlook on the future. The atmosphere in the United States is fantastic, and I've witnessed a significant shift in energy and response since the last time Donald Trump was elected president in 2016. This change is a testament to his leadership and how he has handled himself since then."
Trump's resilience to bounce back from a 2020 election loss and get back into the game was commended by McGregor. The latter anticipated that Trump and his Cabinet would take a lot of action within the first 100 days.
The Irishman stated that it seemed like there were more Americans supporting Trump this time when asked about the differences.
"He learned hard lessons and gained the support of his country. I believe the people are behind him. I am thrilled to see him take action. I hope he succeeds and wish him well."
Trump's victory was also described by McGregor as America's new global standing.
America is the world's superpower and we love it in Ireland. I have the same love for America as I do for my country of Ireland. Its impact is felt throughout the entire free and Western world.
"Ireland is currently facing its own challenges, and the upcoming tenure of Donald Trump will have a significant impact on the country."
