Rams quarterback played through significant rib injury in playoff loss, reveals Matthew Stafford's wife.
In Week 15, Stafford suffered an injury.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams' quarterback, Matthew Stafford, played despite being injured in the team's 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since Week 15, the star quarterback has been playing through an injury, as revealed by Kelly, Stafford's wife.
San Fran was opposed to it. Despite being known for his toughness, Matthew's true level of difficulty is often underestimated because he rarely shares his struggles with others.
"During a recent episode of "The Morning After with Kelly Stafford and Hank," Kelly stated that he got hit in San Fran and later came home and said, "Yeah, I think I cracked my ribs.""
"He cracked four ribs but kept it to himself, continuing his daily routine as if nothing had happened. When he got home, he felt miserable."
Although he had four cracked ribs and unfavorable weather, Stafford managed to complete almost 60% of his passes, throwing for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
Chad hugged Matthew after the loss, and the quarterback, who had cracked ribs, wheezed and bent over in pain.
This season, Stafford played in 16 games for the Rams, missing out on Week 18 as head coach Sean McVay chose to rest the team's starters after securing a playoff spot.
In his starts, the Rams had a record of 10-6, and Stafford completed approximately 66% of his passes for 3,762 yards, with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The Rams have two more years left on Stafford's contract.
After spending the first 12 seasons of his career with the Detroit Lions, Stafford has been a member of the Rams for the past four seasons.
Matthew will need time to determine if he wants to retire or play another season, as stated by Kelly.
The Rams quarterback will benefit from the break to recover from his injured ribs.
