Ravens player calls out Chiefs: "We must stop them from continuing their wrongdoing"
The Ravens missed out on a chance to face Kansas City again in a rematch, with Marlon Humphrey on the sidelines.
The Chiefs have made it to their seventh consecutive AFC championship game and are aiming to become the first team to ever achieve a three-peat.
Since Patrick Mahomes became the full-time starter, the Chiefs have dominated the league, winning three titles in that time frame.
Well, that has bothered a lot of people.
The hatred of chiefs has become a popular topic among fans, and it is now affecting the players as well.
On Sunday night, the Ravens had a chance at a rematch of last year's AFC championship against the Bills, as the Chiefs had already defeated the Texans earlier in the weekend.
Last year, the Ravens lost to the Bills, 27-25, despite wanting revenge against the Chiefs for defeating them.
Though Marlon Humphrey will be physically present at home this weekend, he will still have a strong emotional connection to Sunday's Bills-Chiefs game.
"I have no reason for saying this other than being a hater. The Bills or any NFC team must beat the Chiefs. We can't let them continue to get away with this," Humphrey posted on X on Tuesday.
Earlier this week, Mahomes acknowledged that a significant amount of hatred towards the Chiefs has stemmed from fans believing that referees are biased in their favor.
Mahomes stated that he has learned that if he wins the game, something will eventually come out about it, so he doesn't pay attention to it.
"I understand that I've experienced both sides of the issue regarding the calls made in the game, but ultimately, the players' actions determine the outcome. While there may have been some calls that were not agreed upon, there were likely other plays that had a greater impact on the game's result."
If the Chiefs win on Sunday, they will have been to their fifth Super Bowl in the past decade.
