The NBA postpones the Bucks-Pelicans game because of a record snowfall in New Orleans.
No rescheduled date for the game yet.
The Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans game scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to the historic snowstorm in the region.
The snowfall, which was about a foot, made travel challenging in the city, which is usually warm and not equipped to handle the elements.
The Pelicans faced the Bucks a day earlier than usual on Monday, as the Bucks flew into town to avoid the snowstorm.
On Wednesday, with temperatures remaining in the 30s, many main highways in metro areas were closed by authorities and surface roads throughout town were still coated in ice.
The NBA postponed the game on Wednesday due to the closure of schools and businesses in the area, as well as the cancellation of commercial departures at Louis Armstrong International Airport due to the weather. No date has been set for the game to be made up.
Schools and businesses throughout the area remained closed on Wednesday.
The Miami Heat will face the Milwaukee Bucks in their next game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET in Milwaukee.
The Bucks embark on a West Coast road trip starting on Saturday, with no home games until February 2nd following their game against the Heat.
The Pelicans will face the Bucks at home in the regular season on April 9.
On the other hand, the Pelicans have games scheduled on both Friday and Saturday, making it challenging for the NBA to reschedule the postponed game promptly.
The Western Conference's second-worst team this season, the Pelicans have faced challenges with a record of 12-32.
The Pelicans have had less success than the Bucks, who are currently 24-17 and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
