The USA's chanting at the Sugar Bowl following the New Orleans terror attack symbolizes a united America, according to Saints star.
Cam Jordan stated that the topic is about America supporting one another.
As the TV was turned on, Cam Jordan, the star defensive end of the New Orleans Saints, heard the "U-S-A" chants at the Sugar Bowl while leaving practice.
The chants emerged from the crowd following the postponement of the game due to the New Year's Day terror attack on Bourbon Street, which resulted in at least 14 fatalities and numerous injuries.
On Friday, Jordan, 35, discussed the significance of the chants to him when he appeared on "Fox and Friends."
Mayor Cantrell went to Bourbon Street to set up a prayer before the Sugar Bowl, then came out at the beginning of the game to turn on the TV and hear the USA chants. This shows the resilience of New Orleans, as they are able to bounce back from the delay of the Sugar Bowl.
"We understand that as a city of New Orleans, we are supported by the rest of the country in overcoming this tragedy."
Throughout his 14-year career with the Saints, Jordan has been both a field leader and an influential figure off the field.
On social media, Jordan announced that he donated $25,000 to the New Year's Day Tragedy Fund.
Jordan stated, "I'm truly fortunate to be in a position to give back. When I reflect on the tragedy that occurred on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Bourbon Street, it's heartbreaking to think of people who were just trying to enjoy themselves and celebrate. That's our city."
"Since my arrival, I have felt like I am a part of this city and have expressed my love for it through both highs and lows. Therefore, when it comes to something like this, I want to give back and ensure that it was done correctly. My goal is to ensure that the victims are helped, and the Greater New Orleans fund has established a fund to accomplish this."
Over the course of his illustrious career, Jordan has been an Iron Man, missing just two games, and is an eight-time Pro Bowler and a one-time All-Pro.
This season, the Saints have Jordan with four sacks and 33 total tackles.
