The PGA Tour relocates the Genesis Invitational from Riviera due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
Tiger Woods is the host of the event.
The Genesis Invitational, originally scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, has been relocated due to the ongoing wildfires in the area.
The deadly wildfires decimated the Pacific Palisades, which includes the Riviera Country Club, where the tournament is played.
The PGA Tour announced that events will commence on February 10th, with the tournament beginning on the 13th, although the location of the $20 million signature event remains uncertain.
Despite the wildfires that resulted in the deaths of over 24 individuals and the destruction of more than 12,000 buildings, the course remained undamaged.
The PGA TOUR remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of those affected by the wildfires in Greater Los Angeles. We express our gratitude to the first responders for their life-saving efforts and the ongoing work to put an end to the tragedy.
"The Genesis Invitational 2025, in collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, has been decided to be held at an alternate location the week of Feb. 10-16 due to the unfolding situation. Further details about the venue and tournament information will be provided soon."
This week, Tiger Woods, the tournament host, stated that he wasn't concentrating on the event.
He stated that they were attempting to determine everything and ensure everyone's safety, with scheduled meetings in the future, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
"Currently, our main focus is not on the tournament; rather, it is on assisting those who have been affected, including those who have lost their homes and experienced significant life changes."
