The Eagles chant before the playoff game was botched, leading to ridicule for the Philly mayor.
On Monday, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker may have been overzealous while celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles' NFC Championship berth with the rest of the city.
On Sunday, Parker spoke to the city about the impending snowstorm and deep freeze that would affect the Northeast. The forecast predicted temperatures to fall into the high teens with approximately six inches of snow. In her final remarks, she voiced her support for the Eagles.
Saquon Barkley's 78-yard touchdown run helped the Eagles break the game open, and despite a late surge by the Rams, Philadelphia held on to win the game or force overtime.
Barkley finished with 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
"It was a play that I asked for, and it was fun," Barkley said. "It's a beautiful thing when stuff like that happens."
The Washington Commanders will face Philadelphia on Sunday with a Super Bowl LIX berth at stake.
