On Tuesday, it was disclosed that the cause of death for legendary Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Fernando Valenzuela.
The World Series champion who passed away before the 2024 iteration of the team won the championship over the New York Yankees, and his death was reported by TMZ Sports last month, citing his death certificate.
The 63-year-old pitcher passed away a few weeks after stepping away from his Spanish-language broadcasting duties with the Dodgers. It was anticipated that he would return at some point during the Dodgers' World Series run before his death.

The illness is a rapidly progressing brain disorder that may be caused by decompensated alcoholic cirrhosis, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis cirrhosis, and "probable" Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
In 1981, Valenzuela was named the Cy Young Award winner and Rookie of the Year in the National League. Additionally, he played a crucial role in helping the Dodgers win the World Series title against the Yankees that year.
In his 17-year career, he won two World Series titles with the Dodgers and pitched for several other teams, including the California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, and St. Louis Cardinals.
