This week, the Cowboys ended their relationship with Mike McCarthy.

One of Deion Sanders' former teammates is not convinced that he won't coach the Dallas Cowboys, despite Sanders' denials.

The University of Colorado football coach, who is also a Pro Football Hall of Famer, has reportedly discussed the open position in Dallas with Jerry Jones.

Although Sanders finds the opportunity "intriguing," he loves Boulder and the team, coaches, student body, and community.

Daryl Johnston, Sanders' former teammate, believes there is a legitimate chance of him moving to Texas.

Last week, Sanders stated that he would only coach in the NFL if he were to work with his sons.

"If Deion decides to come here, he wants to coach his son, Shedeur, in the NFL. However, I'm not sure if that's possible in Dallas, Johnston said on OutKick's "Hot Mic." It will require a lot of different things to occur."

Johnston also mentioned something rather important - they already have Dak Prescott.

"Johnston believes that it would not be wise to bring in Shedeur as the quarterback of the franchise, as it could negatively impact the team's future success. He suggests having an open and honest conversation about the situation before making any decisions."

Of course, Sedeur could be the top pick in the NFL Draft, and Dallas currently holds the 12th spot.

Deion Sanders played for the Cowboys from 1995 to 1999 and was a part of their last Super Bowl run in 1995. He was a Pro Bowler in four of those five seasons.

The Cowboys parted ways with Mike McCarthy earlier Monday after five seasons.
