Social media users express outrage over Steve Kerr's sardonic comment about rape and illegal immigrants.
Over the summer, Kerr publicly supported both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, has consistently spoken out against President-elect Donald Trump.
Over the summer, President Biden and Vice President Harris received Kerr's endorsement for president.
During his speech at the Democratic National Convention, he wished to say to Donald Trump, "as Steph Curry put it, 'Goodnight!'"
Trump will become the 47th president on Jan. 20, making him the first person to win the election after a loss since Grover Cleveland.
On Wednesday, Kerr addressed the media before his team's game against the Boston Celtics, opting to remain positive.
Kerr stated, "Although I support democracy, I believe the American people have elected Trump as their leader. I hope he succeeds in the next four years and our country thrives."
Kerr made a joke about Trump's claims of election fraud four years ago, which was not well-received.
"I'm relieved that there was no fraud this time. Last time, the illegal immigrants who crossed the border, committed heinous crimes, and then voted multiple times, was unfortunate," Kerr stated.
Social media were not thrilled with his mention of rape and immigrants.
One user criticized Steve Kerr, saying, "How tone deaf can you be? Laken Riley & other innocent Americans were raped & killed by illegal immigrants."
"Nah that second paragraph was unhinged," added another.
Another stated that Kerr's remarks were "absolutely disgusting" and "the American people should give him the justice he deserves."
"Kerr stated, "I am committed to supporting my country and government, and I believe in the power of the people. I want the best for us, and I recognize the complexity of the world we live in. Despite living in a privileged bubble, I hope that Trump can deliver what's best for us.""
Kerr was asked to share his message with the team and responded with Trump's slogan while maintaining a focus on basketball.
"In our morning meeting, I stated, "Let's revive America and triumph over the Celtics.""
Harris conceded the race Wednesday.
In the aftermath of the "blue wall" being knocked down in battleground states, Planet Chronicle predicted Trump as the next president.
