Shedur Sanders responds to the possibility of his father coaching the Cowboys.
In the 2025 NFL draft, it's predicted that Sedeur Sanders will be among the first quarterbacks selected.
Before the start of the season, the team that selects Sedeur Sanders in the first round of the draft will have an intriguing storyline.
The NFL may be trying to entice Coach Prime from the Colorado Buffaloes to the Dallas Cowboys, as his father had previously stated that he would only go pro if he could coach his sons.
If Dallas wants to choose Shedeur Sanders, they would need to move up the draft board from their current No. 12 pick.
On Tuesday night, the star collegiate quarterback briefly spoke with the Dallas Morning News while attending the Dallas Mavericks-Denver Nuggets game.
He said to the paper, "I believe it would be awesome. What are your thoughts?"
The Cowboys and Mike McCarthy couldn't agree on a new contract after five seasons, leading to his departure. At least one former player doesn't view the opening in Dallas as a "coveted job."
Troy Aikman made his thoughts clear about the situation on Monday.
"I believed Mike McCarthy would be the head coach, so today's revelation that he won't be part of the game is quite unexpected. It implies that there isn't a clear strategy in place," he stated before the playoff match between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings.
The Cowboys are a high-profile team, and whoever becomes their head coach will receive a lot of attention. However, most football coaches want to take over on their own terms, which can be challenging.
"I played for the Dallas Cowboys for 12 years and wish them well. While I appreciate the job, I'm not sure it's the most coveted position."
Deion Sanders didn't completely reject the idea of taking the job. He confirmed on Monday that he spoke with team owner Jerry Jones.
"Sanders stated to ESPN that listening to Jerry Jones is truly delightful and intriguing. He added that he loves Jerry and believes in him. After reflecting on the conversation, he found it intriguing, but he also loves Boulder and everything about their team, coaches, student body, and community."
