McCarthy is reportedly expected to have interest from other teams, including the Chicago Bears, who were rumored to have requested an interview with him but were denied.
The Saints were also predicted to be interested in McCarthy, according to ESPN.
Before the 2020 season, Jason Garrett was replaced as head coach of the Cowboys by Mike McCarthy, who had previously spent 10 years as a head coach. Despite going 6-10 in his first season, McCarthy experienced some success when the team was healthy.
Since 2021, Dallas has won two division titles and made the playoffs every year, but they have yet to return to the NFC Championship, which they last achieved in 1995 when they won the Super Bowl.
The Cowboys' 2024 season ended early, leaving them with a 7-10 record.
