In the first quarter of their playoff game, Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse was blown past by Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley, resulting in a 62-yard touchdown run.

Verse couldn't catch Barkley, making the touchdown even sweeter. Before the game, the Pro Bowl rookie took a shot at Eagles fans.

"Eagles fans are so annoying, he said earlier in the week. Seeing their green and white colors makes him hate it and he gets genuinely upset."

Barkley questioned the timing of Verse’s remarks.

"It's not the wisest thing to say when visiting Philadelphia," he remarked via ESPN. "I've been on the opposite side [as a member of the New York Giants] and even if I had any ill feelings, I wouldn't give them any additional motivation. I'm certain Philly fans have heard that comment. It was already going to be boisterous and energetic, so it will only add to the excitement."

As the Rams prepared for the divisional round game at Lincoln Financial Field, fans taunted Verse with their comments. The video board at the stadium even displayed his remarks during the game's start.

With 1:07 remaining in the first quarter, Philadelphia's lead was increased to 13-7 due to Barkley's touchdown.
