Radio host grills Sean Landeta about grooming habits, sparking anger.
Landeta was questioned about a teammate's assertion that he groomed himself in the presence of others.
One of Landeta's former teammates revealed an embarrassing locker room story about Landeta, which he called false.
In a radio interview with a Philadelphia station, Landeta was questioned about Mitchell's assertion that Landeta, who played for the Eagles from 1999-2002, would expose his "private areas" in the sauna in front of other players.
The Super Bowl champion, who has won the title twice, appeared composed but was visibly annoyed by the query.
"Are you kidding me? You want to call me during primetime radio in Philadelphia and discuss something like that?" he replied to 94 WIP host Spike Eskin.
Freddie is a great teammate, but what he said was completely false. I categorically deny being in the sauna with Jon Ritchie. That never happened.
"I am displeased with Mr. Mitchell and will need to discuss the matter with him."
Landeta, who won both championships with the Giants, shifted his focus to the radio hosts.
"While he may call it enjoyable, the act of one man humiliating another through conversation is not amusing. I can relate to this situation. I'm dismayed that he would make such a statement, particularly when it's untrue."
Landeta asserted that the question was an attempt to boost ratings.
With a playoff game approaching, the Eagles wouldn't be discussing men in saunas, according to Landeta.
Throughout more than two decades in the NFL, Landeta primarily played for the Giants. He also had stints with the Eagles, Rams, and Buccaneers.
