Quinn Ewers of Texas is concentrating on the College Football Playoff semifinal rather than considering his personal future.
Evers remains eligible for another year of college.
On January 10th, the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes will face off in a College Football Playoff semifinal, with junior quarterback Quinn Ewers leading the charge for the Longhorns.
In the current season, Ewers was widely predicted to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ewers has not yet decided whether to return to college football or enter the draft, as the Longhorns' pursuit of a national championship continues.
Reports emerged that Ewers was offered up to $6 million to enter the transfer portal prior to Texas' quarterfinal matchup with Arizona State in the Peach Bowl.
Ewers has one year of college eligibility left, which presents an opportunity for a transfer. If Ewers decides to leave, it would mean that Arch Manning will take over the starting quarterback role at the Longhorns.
On Wednesday, Ewers fielded questions about his football future.
He replied, "At the moment, I'm not concerned about all those matters."
Against the Buckeyes, Evers emphasized that he was focused on the high-stakes game.
""I am solely focused on Friday at the moment," he stated."
Ewers stated that it would be selfish to prioritize his personal future during Texas' playoff run, as it would be a disservice to his teammates.
"Being present in every moment is crucial, as it allows us to focus on what's right in front of us and avoid tripping over it. This is something that God has helped me with greatly, as it allows me to focus on the present and not worry about what's next. It's important to remember that thinking too far ahead can be selfish and detract from the importance of living in the present."
If Ewers decides to enter the NFL Draft, he may attract interest from several teams seeking a young and skilled quarterback.
