Pete Rose Hall of Fame comparison mocks Biden's 28th Amendment announcement, as JD Vance ridicules the move.

Vice President-elect JD Vance has mocked President Biden's recent declaration that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is now "the law of the land."
Biden's statement prompted Vance to make a joke on X about inducting Pete Rose into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
"Hey Joe, can you declare Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame on our way out if we're doing fake s---?" Vance wrote. "See you in two days!"
In September, Rose was banned from MLB for life due to his illegal betting on games.
In 1989, an investigation found that Rose, while managing the Cincinnati Reds, not only gambled on MLB games but also placed bets on games involving his own team.
Commissioner Bart Giamatti declared Rose permanently ineligible for baseball, but allowed him to petition for reinstatement and avoid a formal declaration that he bet on baseball. Despite multiple appeals for reinstatement over the last few decades, Rose's requests have been unsuccessful.
Rose, as a player, won three World Series titles, two with the Reds and one with the Phillies, while making 17 All-Star games and winning NL MVP in 1973. He still holds the record for most hits in MLB history with 4,256.
Since his retirement, his betting scandal has made him one of the most controversial holdouts of the baseball Hall of Fame.
Vance was not hesitant to use Rose's Hall of Fame scandal to criticize the outgoing president.
According to the American Bar Association, Biden contended that the ERA has "cleared all necessary hurdles to formally be added to the Constitution." Biden concurred with the ABA and leading constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution. Nevertheless, the National Archives disagreed with Biden's argument.
The president's statement that the ERA is already part of the Constitution was met with criticism on social media, with some users accusing him of being a "dictator."
The ERA, a proposed amendment to the constitution that guarantees equal rights under the law to all Americans regardless of sex, was recently introduced by New York Democrats in response to the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. Jackson's Women's Health Organization decision in June 2022.
