Patriots' wife Jerod Mayo's wife speaks out after husband's firing: "What happened to the class?"
After their season finale, Mayo was let go.
Jerod Mayo's wife seems ready to air out some dirty laundry.
After being chosen by Bill Belichick to succeed him, Mayo was let go by the New England Patriots following a single season.
Despite the team's poor performance with a record of 4-13, and some criticism directed towards his decisions and quotes, many argue that he has not been given a fair chance due to the strength of the Pats' roster.
Chantel Rostant, Mayo's wife, criticized the franchise's "class" on her Instagram story.
Rostant wrote on her Instagram story: "We never considered telling the truth, but I couldn't comprehend the extent of the lies being spread to maintain a facade. What happened to the class??"
"Since Sunday, we've been taking the high road and allowing everyone to do their thing. However, playing with someone's name will not be tolerated. I predict that the fake stories will cease before the real ones begin."
In a recent interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Rob Gronkowski, who played with Mayo and was coached by Belichick, criticized the Patriots.
Gronk felt that it was unfair to Jerod because the team was depleted and Jerod was a rookie head coach. He believed that Jerod needed another year to be evaluated based on his development and growth after the first season.
The Pats would have secured the No. 1 pick in April if they had lost their season finale, but they won and are now scheduled to pick fourth.
In recent years, the Patriots have been struggling, with a 10-7 season in 2021 followed by an 8-9 record in 2022 and a 4-13 record in the past two seasons.
Since 1999, this was the first season without Belichick coaching the Pats, as he had been their coach for 24 seasons.
