Notre Dame's national title game against Ohio State is a cause for concern for Shane Gillis.
The national title game features a matchup between Notre Dame and Ohio State.
On Monday night, Shane Gillis, a Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan, prayed for his team to defeat Ohio State in the national championship.
An Under Armour advertisement featured a comedian praying for his team to win their first national title since 1988.
Since 2012, the Fighting Irish have been in the national title game, but due to NCAA punishment for using ineligible players, they were forced to vacate their wins from that season.
Shane, in the ad, addressed God and shared his big prayer. He acknowledged his absence and mentioned the upcoming Notre Dame game in the national championship on Monday. He reminded God of their shared history, including the recent field goal, and expressed gratitude for God's help. He understood that God had a lot on his plate, but appreciated the time God took to assist them.
I should clarify that I have not placed any bets on these games. However, I have bet on some of them. Moving forward, if Notre Dame wins, I will refrain from placing any bets for a month or two. I am considering placing a bet on Sunday.
"Please, God, help us win a national championship. We know you can do it. Trucking dudes, pick sixes everywhere. Maybe a couple Fumblerooskis too! Notre Dame needs your help."
Gillis attended Notre Dame's victory over Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Nick Saban, the former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach, got genuinely angry with Gillis over the jabs about SEC schools paying players.
