No. 3 Georgia's 4-year streak snapped as No. 16 Ole Miss upsets them, boosting their playoff chances.
Over four years, Georgia had not lost to a team other than Alabama until their recent defeat.
The party is on in Oxford.
On Saturday, the 16th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels defeated No. 3 Georgia, 28-10, in Mississippi.
Ole Miss's start was not ideal after Jaxson Dart's first pass was intercepted.
The Bulldogs quickly scored seven points, but Ole Miss responded with a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. After forcing a three and out, the Rebels added two field goals to take a 16-7 lead.
During the second half, Georgia scored a field goal, increasing the lead to six points.
In the first drive of Ole Miss, Dart successfully completed all four passes, including a 10-yard touchdown to Antwane Wells Jr. However, the two-point conversion failed, but it was the largest lead of the game with 6:10 remaining in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs were struggling to keep up with the Rebels. However, they made a comeback attempt with a chip-shot field goal. But, their efforts were thwarted when a Carson Beck pass was tipped at the line and intercepted by Ole Miss. The Rebels then scored another field goal, taking their lead to 25-10 with 3:22 remaining.

An at-large bid for Ole Miss could be secured with a win, and it will be intriguing to determine their positioning next week.
Georgia was initially set to lead the SEC, but Texas' impressive victory over Florida gave the Longhorns a 4-1 record in conference and an overall record of 8-1. Georgia, with a 7-2 conference record and a 5-2 overall record, is likely to receive an at-large bid in the upcoming rankings. However, the Bulldogs face a challenging test in just seven days that could jeopardize their chances if they do not perform well.
Georgia's SEC title game hopes have decreased because four other teams in the conference have only one loss against SEC rivals. Georgia is now behind Texas A&M, Texas, and Tennessee in the conference.
The Bulldogs will host Tennessee in a top-notch SEC bout next week, which will affect playoff seeding as Ole Miss is off.
