NJ company employee fired after vile tirade against female Packers supporter.
A Packers supporter was reportedly called vile names by a fan.
This week, a Philadelphia Eagles fan who was involved in a vile incident at Lincoln Financial Field lost his job at a New Jersey-based consulting firm that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ryan Caldwell, who was identified as the fan in the viral video, was seen getting into a confrontation with a female Green Bay Packers fan and using derogatory language. He also made offensive gestures towards the man present in the video.
The company announced that the fan and his employer have separated.
The management of BCT Partners has concluded an international personnel investigation on an employee who made highly offensive and misogynistic statements on a video outside of the workplace. In line with our company values, which emphasize respect, dignity, and inclusion, we have decided to terminate the employee's employment. This separation is effective immediately.
Our former employee's behavior was reprehensible and goes against our values. Their language and actions were unacceptable and have no place in our workplace or society. We strongly condemn this conduct and do not support it in any way.
To remain true to our values, we can condemn the actions without condemning the individual. We should not be remembered for our worst actions. We have provided grace and support to our former employee, hoping that he will grow and we can all learn from this incident. This is what real inclusion entails, and it is who we are and what we stand for.
"We deeply regret the harm caused to the victim and the numerous ways in which these events have affected many individuals. We remain steadfast in our pursuit of gender equality and the creation of a society that values and respects the dignity of all individuals."
Over the weekend, the Eagles defeated the Packers in the wild-card game. During his tirade, Caldwell not only called the woman a "dumb c---" but also an "ugly dumb c---." He then asked her fiancé if he planned to take action against the name-calling, and if not, he should turn around and watch the game.
Alexander Basara, the woman's fiancé, posted a video on social media and identified himself as such. He stated on X that he did not want to engage in a physical confrontation with Caldwell.
In one post, he stated that he would not paint all Eagles fans with a broad brush.
"Many of you were very kind. I assure you. Although there was some friendly banter, a handshake was the only appropriate response. This behavior was definitely inappropriate," he wrote on X.
According to USA Today, the Eagles fan was also barred from attending any games at Lincoln Financial Field.
