Matt Riddle discusses his victory in the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and his experience with the company since his return.
Last year, Major League Wrestling welcomed back the riddle.
Matt Riddle won the MLW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time a year after returning to Major League Wrestling, defeating Satoshi Kojima at Kings of Colosseum.
In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, the "amazing evening" was recalled by the riddle.
"Winning the title felt really, really good for him, as it had been a long time coming and he knew that anything worthwhile isn't easy."
In 2018, Riddle came close to winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship when he faced off against Swerve Strickland in a nearly 22-minute match, but ultimately fell short.
Since his return to MLW last year, Riddle has been on a roll, starting with a match against Jacob Fatu.
"To win the heavyweight championship against Kojima, who is also an absolute legend, and then come back full circle and do everything I've done, it couldn't have been any better," he said. "The weekend was sensational in Texas, with the crowd being white-hot and the evening being amazing."
Riddle stated that his time in Major League Wrestling has been even more impressive than before. Besides Riddle, there are other notable wrestlers in the company, including Mistico, KENTA, Donovan Dijak, Tom Lawlor, and Bobby Fish.
Since [a year ago], the business has only improved and become better, but even then, I was working with the best people and competition in the industry. Despite losing in the finals to Swerve, we have all witnessed his success since then, just as we have seen our own achievements since then.
"Unlike a locker room filled with pushovers, MLW boasts a roster of top talent from CMLL and New Japan. Since my return, the promotion has been focused on high-level matches featuring top guys."
The year may have begun with a riddle, but things are only going to get more challenging from now on.
At MLW SuperFight 6 on Feb. 8 at Atlanta's Center Stage, he will defend the championship against two opponents: Kojima and Alex Kane in a triple-threat match.
