Los Angeles wildfires persist, and LeBron James sends numerous prayers.
JJ Redick, James' coach, lost his residence.
The wildfires in California have negatively impacted the Los Angeles Lakers, and LeBron James is eager for the situation to resolve.
Over 10,000 structures have been destroyed and at least 11 lives have been lost due to the wildfires that started this week and are currently burning approximately 30,000 acres.
JJ Redick, James' own head coach, is among the many people left homeless due to the flames.
The Lakers game on Saturday was rescheduled, and James communicated via X.
James expressed his hope that the nightmare would end soon, adding several praying hands and fingers-crossed emojis to his post.
In 2018, James joined the Lakers, and his eldest son, Bronny, played high school and college basketball in the area before being drafted by the Lakers last year. His younger son, Bryce, who currently plays for Sierra Canyon, the same school as his older brother, has committed to play at Arizona.
An emotional Redick opened up about losing his home in the flames.
Redick stated on Friday that we were renting for a year to determine our long-term location, and all of our significant possessions, including 20 years of being together and 10 years of parenthood, were in that house. "There are certain things you can't replace. They will never be replaced," he said.
"Losing your home is a difficult experience, but it's the emotional side of it that can be the most challenging. My family and I are going through a tough time as we process the individual side of losing our home. It's not something anyone wants to go through, and I hope no one ever has to experience it. The feeling of losing your home is truly awful, and it's been a long time since I've cried or mourned like that."
The Vikings-Rams NFL playoff game, scheduled for Monday night, was relocated from Inglewood to Arizona due to the fires. Additionally, two Clippers games, a Kings game, and the Rose Bowl half-marathon and 5K were postponed.
