Lamar Jackson of the Ravens voices disappointment following playoff loss: "Sick of being so close"
3 turnovers were committed, and Jackson was responsible for 2 of them.
Despite another MVP-caliber season from Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens have yet to reach the Super Bowl, winning only one playoff game.
On Sunday night, the Ravens lost to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round, 27-25. Despite leading 25-10, the Ravens fell short of a two-point conversion to tie the game. Jackson's pass to Mark Andrews was slightly off target, and the star tight end was unable to catch it.
The Ravens had three costly turnovers in the game, with Jackson having an interception and a fumble, and Andrews fumbling the ball after catching a pass. Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard punched the ball out of Andrews' grasp.
After the game, Jackson expressed that he was tired of the mistakes.
"We must overcome this," Jackson stated. "We're so close. I'm exhausted being this close. We must achieve it."
He refused to blame Andrews for the team’s loss.
It's not Mark's fault," Jackson stated. "We're all responsible for the game's outcome. It's a team effort. We can't blame Mark for his excellent performance this season, which has been challenging.
"We don't always win, but as a team, we can overcome challenges. When we face setbacks, we must find solutions."
In franchise history, Baltimore had one of the best seasons, achieving the third-most yards in NFL history and becoming the first team to hit 4,000 passing and 3,000 rushing yards in a single season. Additionally, the team had the league's best rush defense.
When Jackson has a turnover, his postseason record drops to 1-5.
