Jets' move disappoints Davante Adams, sparking Packers reunion rumors.
Davante Adams suggested that they may require assistance with the receiver.
The Green Bay Packers' future needs for the 2025 season have been speculated about by former New York Jets receiver Davante Adams.
Despite being the youngest roster in the league for a second year in a row, the Packers made an early playoff exit with a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Green Bay struggled all season long playing against polished teams, losing six games to teams that finished with a record of 11-6 or better.
This offseason, the Packers' focus will be on the talented young receiver room, particularly for Adams.
He stated on the "Up & Adams" show on Tuesday that it depends on the team's health.
"Based on their current resources, it seems likely that they may require assistance with a receiver. Perhaps a veteran or someone with experience could be helpful. We'll have to wait and see."
There were rumors on social media that Adams' comments could have been about himself, given his successful season in New York following his reunion with Rodgers.
The Jets' historic playoff drought persisted as they ended the season with a 5-12 record. The team underwent significant changes, including the search for a new head coach and general manager.
There’s also a possibility that Rodgers doesn’t return.
Green Bay was home to the two for eight seasons, and their decision-making processes may be influenced by each other.
He said Monday that this season was a "whirlwind" and he's unsure what his next step will be. Adams is due to make $35.64 million in each of the next two years.
