Jesse Palmer discusses the College Football Playoff, French-onion beer, and Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.
The Peach Bowl call included Palmer.
During the Peach Bowl game between No. 4 Arizona State and No. 5 Texas, Jesse Palmer had the best view of the College Football Playoff match.
The Sun Devils faced significant pressure in the playoff game against the Longhorns, who were heavily favored and had not played particularly close games in the previous rounds.
Although the Longhorns needed double-overtime to reach the semifinal, Palmer believes that the seeding format requires "some tweaking."
Palmer believes that conference champions should be included in the playoffs but not given an automatic bye in the quarterfinal. In his opinion, the games between Oregon and Ohio State and Georgia and Notre Dame felt like semifinal matches, not quarterfinal matches.
"Arizona State's remarkable transformation from a 3-9 team to a contender in college football is one of the greatest stories of the year. Cam Skattebo's outstanding performance has been a key factor in their success. Although they played well enough to compete with Texas, Arizona State still needs some adjustments to the College Football Playoff format to reach the semifinal."
Despite dropping their semifinal matchup to Ohio State on Friday night, Palmer says Quinn Ewers faced numerous challenges throughout the year.
Palmer praised Quinn Ewers, acknowledging the challenges of being a quarterback and the hype surrounding Arch Manning. He also noted how Arch Manning played well in the two and a half games he played, resulting in an injury to Quinn Ewers and a loss to Georgia. Palmer expressed disappointment that many people wanted a quarterback switch.
At Florida, Palmer encountered a comparable circumstance, sharing a roster with Rex Grossman and highly touted recruit Brock Berlin.
Palmer stated, "I'm thinking to myself, 'If I throw an interception or we lose a game, I'll lose my job.' And to Quinn Ewers' credit, he's just kept playing, with his head down."
This week, the national championship is approaching, and the NFL playoffs have begun. To ensure that football fans are well-fed during this time, Palmer has teamed up with Helluva Good Dips.
"Palmer stated that this is his favorite time of the year, which is a time to gather with loved ones and watch the big games. He is thrilled to be part of the viewing party experience with Helluva Good dips, which have been a staple in his house for a long time. This year, he plans to take the big game viewing experience to the next level. He added that Helluva Good dips are a must-have at viewing parties, and they will be a part of the festivities this year, including the College Football Playoff and the upcoming NFL game. He concluded by saying that there is no better combination than chips, dips, and beer during this time of the year."
Palmer is thrilled that the dip brand has partnered with Harpoon Brewery to create a French-onion flavored beer.
"This is like having Jimmie Johnson, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin in the Super Bowl," Palmer said. "French-onion dip is my go-to dip, and Harpoon IPA is my favorite beer flavor. Combining these two is going to blow people's minds."
The NFL Draft is approaching, and it appears that Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward will be the top two picks. However, Palmer predicts that no one else will sneak into those positions, and teams will need to be aggressive if they want to acquire a quarterback.
"Shedur is incredibly athletic, and I believe he is also incredibly accurate and a bit more dangerous from the pocket. Cam is a natural passer and has the X-factor, but he may struggle off-schedule. Palmer thinks that some movement and ammo may be needed to get close to these players."
