JD Vance jests about forgoing the inauguration to catch Ohio State in the championship game.
The CFP title game and the inauguration are both scheduled for January 20th.
JD Vance, the Vice President-elect and an Ohio State alumnus, stated in August that the current Buckeyes team was "the best" he had seen in a while. This will be settled when Ohio State faces Notre Dame in the national championship game later this month, and Vance hopes to witness the game.
There’s just one slight complication.
On the same day as the title game, President-elect Donald Trump and Vance will officially assume their roles.
I hope everyone is okay with me missing the inauguration to attend the national title game, Vance joked in a social media post.
The senator posted a meme on X with two options: "Attend your own inauguration" or "Watch the Buckeyes win a national title."
The Buckeyes and Notre Dame will both have the chance to win their first national title in years after defeating Texas and Penn State, respectively, in the Cotton and Orange Bowls.
As Trump is sworn in for a second term in the White House, Vance will be cheering on his Buckeyes in Washington.
