Jake Paul's head may be in danger if Mike Tyson decides to knock it off.
Paul is accused of selectively targeting his opponents by Andrew Whitworth.
The upcoming week marks the culmination of what could be the greatest boxing match in history, regardless of personal opinion.
The upcoming boxing match between YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has sparked a lot of debate about its outcome.
Tyson's upcoming fight against Roy Jones Jr. will mark his return to professional boxing after an exhibition bout in 2020. This will be his first pro fight since 2005. Meanwhile, Paul is already on his third fight of the year and has a record of 10-1 with six knockouts.
At 27 years old, Paul has become a constant source of irritation for many people. He gained fame through his work on Vine, the Disney Channel, and YouTube.
Andrew Whitworth, a Super Bowl champion, is not a big fan of Paul's work.
In a recent interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Whitworth stated, "I hope Mike Tyson knocks off his head."
Whitworth is among those who question the validity of Paul's boxing career. In his first bout, he faced fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, followed by a match against former NBA star Nate Robinson. Subsequently, he fought four current and former MMA artists. His only defeat came at the hands of professional boxer Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Paul fought against two boxers without Wikipedia pages, Andre August and Ryan Bourland, after his fight with Nate Diaz. These fights lasted a combined five minutes and two seconds, with both ending in first-round knockouts for Paul.
Now, his next opponent is a 58-year-old Tyson.
Whitworth stated that he would prefer for Paul to fight someone his age and at the same level of success in boxing. However, if Paul continues to cherry-pick, fans can follow Jake Paul's journey. Whitworth added that he hopes Mike Tyson will knock him out.
Paul has long stated that he aims to become a world champion by 2028. Recently, he said he only has "three or four years left" in the sport because he would accomplish everything he wants in that time frame. When asked if it was a prediction he would win a title within that time frame, he responded affirmatively.
"Yes," he replied. "Indeed it is."
Currently, Paul is the -200 favorite on Action Network, meaning a $200 bet on Paul would result in a $100 win.
