The NFL divisional round began with excitement in Kansas City, but the tension was palpable on the Houston Texans' sideline during their game against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs.

Kris Boyd, a defensive back from Texas, nearly shoved Houston's special teams coach Frank Ross to the ground after the opening kick of the playoff game.

The Chiefs' Nikko Remigio fielded the kick and broke through some of the Texans' tacklers.

Remigio sprinted toward the end zone, but Boyd eventually caught up and stripped the ball away.

He dashed toward the Texans' sideline, tore off his helmet, and sent it flying toward the bench in celebration of the fumble. However, there was a problem - the Chiefs had recovered the fumble.

Last week, the Texans upset the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round and advanced to Saturday's divisional round game.

Despite being significant underdogs before the game, Houston was only seven points behind the Chiefs at halftime. The third quarter ended with Kansas City leading 13-12.

The outcome of Sunday's AFC divisional matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills will determine the winner of the game at Arrowhead Stadium.
