In the final game of the season, a cowboys cheerleader suffered a head injury after being accidentally kicked during a mishap at kickoff.
Week 18 was a better week for Brandon Aubrey.
The Week 18 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders was a nail-biter until the very end, but not all plays were executed flawlessly.
Just ask the Cowboys cheerleaders.
Brandon Aubrey, a reliable placekicker in Dallas, was preparing for a kickoff, a routine task for his position in the league.
One Cowboys cheerleader was unfortunate as Aubrey's attempt to kick the ball downfield went awry, and it was immediately kicked out of bounds to the left.
In the unexpected incident, a NFL cameraman accidentally hit a cheerleader with the ball he was trying to catch, causing her to fall to the ground.
There are suspicions among social media users that Michelle Siemienowski, a first-year cheerleader from Dallas, was the one who was hit by the ball.
After falling, she managed to get back up and seemed to be laughing about the incident.
Tress Way, the Commanders punter, and the rest of her cheer team checked on her.
In July, Siemienowski was selected for the cheer team, fulfilling a lifelong dream of being a part of the renowned squad, as he shared on Instagram.
"This experience has been the most life-changing, and it's just the beginning. I am grateful to say that I have achieved my dreams and earned my boots!"
After the incident, the Cowboys aimed to end the season on a positive note, but the Commanders had different plans.
With the team's playoff berth at stake, Marcus Mariota knew that potential seeding was on the line when he got the ball with just over three minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
With a three-point deficit, Washington contemplated a game-tying field goal as Mariota positioned himself with 2nd-and-goal from the Dallas 5-yard line, and he launched a fade to Terry McLaurin on the outside.
McLaurin caught the ball in mid-air and landed on both feet to secure a victory on the final play of the game.
Despite finishing the season with a 12-5 record, the Commanders lost the division title to the Philadelphia Eagles, who had a 14-3 record. However, the Commanders' win earned them the No. 6 seed instead of the No. 7 seed, which would have required them to travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in the wild-card round.
Meanwhile, Dallas finishes the season 7-10.
