In South Carolina, a former NFL player, Robert Quinn, was taken into custody following an attempted hit-and-run.
In 2023, the Eagles reached the Super Bowl with Quinn on the team.
Reports indicate that former NFL player Robert Quinn was arrested in South Carolina on Friday morning for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run crash that involved multiple vehicles.
According to FOX 4, the former Rams’ defensive end was arrested by law enforcement in North Charleston at approximately 2 a.m. after attempting to flee the scene of a crash he is accused of causing.
The Charleston County Jail has records of Quinn, 34, being arrested for leaving the scene and reckless driving.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at a car dealership. The North Charleston Fire Department was the first to arrive on the scene and informed police that the suspect, later identified as Quinn, seemed to be attempting to flee the scene in a different vehicle.
A pickup truck owned by Quinn crashed into a car, causing it to collide with two other vehicles, according to FOX 4. Video evidence showed Quinn's truck swerving on the road before driving onto a dealership property, police said.
The report stated that Quinn sustained facial injuries and spoke with a slurred accent. He was also reportedly uncooperative with law enforcement and was eventually removed from the car he was in before being arrested.
In August 2023, the former NFL player was arrested for hitting four cars and fleeing the scene, and now, 18 months later, he has been arrested again on Friday for a similar situation.
Quinn last played in the NFL during the 2022 season.
In 2011, he was a first-round pick in the NFL Draft and spent most of his career with the Rams. In 2018, he was traded to Miami, where he led the team with 6.5 sacks. The following year, he was traded to the Cowboys, where he once again led the team in sacks with 11.5.
In 2023, Quinn played for the Bears and Eagles, reaching the Super Bowl.
