Georgetown's 73-68 loss to the Blue Demons on Friday ended their 39-game regular-season Big East losing streak.
Since their victory over Georgetown, DePaul's last Big East win was against No. 8 Xavier on January 18, 2023.
Since their last road win on Dec. 3, 2022, DePaul's victory over Georgetown was not only a Big East win but also their first road win.
DePaul had three players score in double digits, with guard CJ Gunn leading the way with 17 points on five-of-nine shooting and five rebounds.
In the first half, DePaul led 39-28, with Layden Blocker scoring all 14 of his points, including the final six points for DePaul.
Malik Mack and Drew Fielder led the scoring for Georgetown in the loss.
Both Mack and Fielder scored 19 points, with Mack adding six assists and two steals, and Fielder contributing eight rebounds and two blocks.
In the loss, Georgetown's Caleb Williams and Curtis Williams Jr. both scored ten points, with Caleb adding six rebounds to his total.
The win for DePaul snapped a five-game losing streak.
In the AP poll era, ESPN research shows that DePaul's Big Ten conference losing streak was the fourth-longest in conference play.
The longest conference losing streak in history was Colgate's 47-game streak from 1984 to 1987.
DePaul improved to 10-9 (1-7 in Big East play) with their win and will continue their winning streak against Creighton on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
