Fans of the Baltimore Ravens start a GoFundMe campaign to support Mark Andrews' charity after a crucial drop.
Since the game, Andrews, who also fumbled, has been the subject of criticism.
Mark Andrews' worst moment in his career has unexpectedly resulted in a positive outcome for him.
On Sunday, Andrews missed a two-point conversion that would have tied the game, and the Ravens lost to the Bills, 27-25, in the AFC divisional round.
Since the game, the star tight end has been criticized for his fumble in the fourth quarter.
An initiative was started by a group of Bills fans to contribute funds to Andrews' charity, Breakthrow T1D, which assists children with diabetes.
The Ravens TE failed to catch the game-tying 2-point conversion, upsetting fans. Additionally, the TE has been receiving death threats and hateful comments following his poor performance last night.
"Let's encourage Bills Mafia to contribute to Mark's charity for juvenile diabetes. Our goal is to raise at least $5,000. Please share this message and include the donation link in our bio @thebuffalobrief on Instagram."
At the time of publication, over $20,000 had been raised, which surpassed the goal.
While some have contributed $89 to represent Andrews' jersey number, others have also contributed $17, which is the number Josh Allen has worn throughout his career.
Andrews was not interviewed by the media following the game, but his coach and teammates backed him up.
Mark Andrews is crucial to our success, Harbaugh stated through The Athletic.
All of us played a factor in the game. It’s a team effort. We’re not going to put that on Mark. Because he’s been battling all season. All the great things he’s been doing all season.
The Bills will attempt to defeat the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, who are playing in their seventh consecutive AFC championship game this weekend. This marks the fourth time in the past five seasons that the Bills and Chiefs have faced off in the postseason.
