During the college football national championship, Trump's presence was palpable.
The national championship game featured a taped message from Trump at halftime.
On Monday night, college football fans who watched the national championship game between Notre Dame and Ohio State on ESPN were greeted by a taped message from President Donald Trump.
Earlier in the day, Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. Despite having attended national championships as president previously, he couldn't go today because it was his first day back in the White House. Nevertheless, he seemed focused on the game.
Trump declared, "Greetings, fellow Americans. Today marks a historic and thrilling moment for our nation. Despite the hardships faced by our people in recent years, we are now determined to restore America to its former glory and ensure its continued prosperity and pride."
"Our nation will be known for its compassion, strength, and exceptionalism. We will use our power and might to end wars and bring peace to the world. We will regain respect and be admitted once again, admired like never before. By putting America first, we will make America great again."
Since winning the election against Kamala Harris, Trump has observed enthusiasm across the country. He also addressed the athletes participating in the game.
In just three months since the election, the excitement, confidence, and spirit have returned to our nation. We are determined to lead our country to even greater heights. The golden age of America is now upon us.
"I understand that the journey has been challenging for both players and fans. Despite the long season, we have two exceptional teams. Let's enjoy the game and fight with integrity, allowing the better team to emerge victorious. Thank you, and have a good night."
Ohio State's 21-7 halftime lead must have made Vice President JD Vance happy.
