Devon Mostert, wife of NFL player Jimmy Mostert, faced racist hate online after defending Florida Governor Ron DeSantis against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Miami Dolphins star Raheem Mostert's wife Devon Mostert reaffirmed her support for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis following Kamala Harris' accusation that he wouldn't take her hurricane-related calls.
Devon Mostert, wife of NFL running back for the Miami Dolphins' Raheem Mostert, continues to support her earlier comments about Vice President Kamala Harris' "ridiculous" attack on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis amid Hurricane Milton.
On Monday, DeSantis accused Harris of not responding to her calls in the days leading up to the second storm that hit Southwest Florida in two weeks.
On Monday, Harris stated that playing political games during crisis situations when people are in desperate need of support is utterly irresponsible and selfish, specifically referring to DeSantis' actions.
DeSantis received praise from Mostert on Instagram for his handling of the back-to-back natural disasters, and she continues to support his response.
"Kamala's comments about him do not align with his priorities," Mostert stated in an exclusive interview with Planet Chronicle Digital. "His focus should be on caring for his Floridians, and that's where he should remain focused."
"Although all of our resources and time were meant to be used for that, she is standing on the tarmac and complaining that someone didn't answer her call. To me, that seems unreasonable."
Earlier this week, DeSantis responded to Harris by stating that she had "no role" in the process and that he was collaborating effectively with FEMA and President Biden.
During a press briefing at the White House on Wednesday, Biden reiterated his claims that DeSantis should take Harris' calls, when asked by Real Clear Politics reporter Philip Wegmann.
"Biden stated, "I've spoken with Governor DeSantis, who has been very gracious. He expressed gratitude for our efforts and is aware of our actions. I believe this is significant.""
Harris' attack and Biden's praise of DeSantis didn't align.
""In my view, their contrasting narratives were selfish and irresponsible, given that they belong to the same administration," she stated."
Since posting, Mostert has been subjected to ongoing hateful and racist comments on social media.
""I can't fathom commenting on someone's family picture or sliding into their DMs to discuss the skin color of my children," she stated."
While some criticize her as a "white, snowflake, gold-digging wife," Mostert has a limit to her tolerance of leftist commentators.
She stated that discussing her children was a boundary to be crossed.
"I am aware of my identity, my heart, my family background, and my husband. Although they believe they know me, they have no idea."
Although her Instagram account is being flooded with negativity, Mostert states that many users are praising her for speaking out on social media. The reinforcement of support from NFL wives and girlfriends who share her views is crucial.
""NFL spouses are more numerous than the media acknowledges, and we support one another," she stated."
While she can't speak for all women, she surrounds herself with a mutual perspective.
"To safeguard my children's future, I am willing to face opposition," she stated.
Mostert stated that Kamala Harris lacks the necessary skills to become the next President of the United States.
