Deion Sanders should remain in college, says ex-NFL star.
Deion Sanders recently received an outreach from the Cowboys.
There are rumors that Deion Sanders may leave the University of Colorado football program to join the NFL.
Sanders, who had been approached by the Dallas Cowboys, admitted that the opportunity was intriguing, but ultimately declined it.
If it meant continuing to coach his sons, Sanders himself stated that he would consider coaching the NFL. Shedur is being considered as the top pick in this year's NFL Draft.
One NFL great believes it's better for Sanders to stay in college, citing a compelling reason.
Vince Wilfork believes that college athletes require Coach Prime more than professional athletes.
Wilfork stated in a recent interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that he believes his ability to connect with young kids makes him more of an asset to college than a person making millions of dollars. He emphasized that everyone has their own dreams, but from an outside perspective, he can have a greater impact on people's lives when it matters. He believes that his leadership skills can help young people achieve their goals.
"I'd rather see him help the kids, who need it more than the millionaires, because he stands for what can really help them. He is a trailblazer at this level."
Jackson State was Sanders' first coaching job, and after he got the Colorado job, several players followed, including his sons and Travis Hunter, who became this season's Heisman Trophy winner as a two-way superstar. Like his quarterback, Hunter is also expected to be a top-five pick.
After winning the Heisman, Hunter hugged his coach tightly and cried on his shoulder.
Despite controlling their own destiny into the College Football Playoff, the Buffaloes lost to Kansas in the second-to-last game of the regular season and were eliminated from the Big 12 championship game.
