Daniel Jones receives criticism from Jermaine Eluemunor for the treatment he received from Giants fans.
In Week 1, the Giants were defeated by the Vikings.
The Giants' 2024 season began with difficulties.
In Week 1, the Giants were dominated by the Minnesota Vikings in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Following the 28-6 loss, a cluster of supporters remained outside to watch as quarterback Daniel Jones exited the facility.
Videos on social media showed fans mocking Giants quarterback Daniel Jones by calling him "Danny Pennies" instead of his preferred nickname "Danny Dimes." Although Jones appeared unbothered by the incident and said he's "not easily offended," one of his teammates offered a more direct response.
Eluemunor responded to a video on X, formerly Twitter, of a fan's exchange with Jones by saying, "Today didn't go as expected, but this is WACK AF."
"As someone who has struggled with depression and low self-esteem, this behavior must end. It's acceptable to be upset as a fan, but to behave this way at the player entrance is inhumane. We will improve, and so should this situation."
One fan was heard telling Jones, "I need a million."
Dexter Lawrence, a two-time Pro Bowler, commented on the fans following the Week 1 loss.
Lawrence told reporters via SNY TV that he didn't respect it honestly.
Lawrence stated that he was unclear on the reasons behind the fans' behavior, specifically those who reacted in a certain way.
"Understood. It seems they're hoping for their team to succeed. Despite the difficulties, this is just how it goes."
Since their most recent Super Bowl victory in 2011, the Giants have struggled, with a record of 76-118-1 in the following 11 seasons.
Over the years, the franchise has experienced numerous head coach changes. Since becoming the starting quarterback in 2019, Jones' record has fallen below .500.
On Sunday, the ex-Duke quarterback amassed 186 passing yards but made two interceptions.
