Brian Daboll, the Giants' coach, has chosen MetLife Stadium over any other field in the world for the upcoming matchup with the Panthers in Germany.
The Giants have not lost any games outside their home country.
Despite being in Germany for the Giants' first international game of the season, head coach Brian Daboll feels most comfortable at home.
The Panthers will face the Giants at Allianz Arena on Sunday morning, with the Giants hoping that a change of scenery will help them improve their performance.
Daboll, the coach of the New York Giants, expressed his excitement about the team's presence in Germany and their upcoming game, stating that it is an honor to be there.
He expressed gratitude for the chance to represent the National Football League in Germany and compete to the best of his ability.
Although there is excitement about playing NFL games abroad, coaches and players have consistently expressed doubts about the feasibility of doing so due to the unpredictable travel and field conditions that can complicate their game day preparations.
For Daboll, it seems he’d prefer to be home.
The coach responded to the question about where he would choose to play by stating that he would select MetLife Stadium. However, it is worth noting that the field conditions at MetLife have been criticized by players in the league for being injury-prone.
Not everyone was able to sleep during the overnight flight, as Daboll mentioned.
"We'll do our best to adjust our time clocks and acclimate."
Despite Daboll’s preference, the Giants have actually fared well overseas.
In each of the three regular-season games played in Europe, New York has won in London, with the most recent victory occurring in 2022. As a result, they have reached the postseason in each of those seasons, culminating in a Super Bowl title.
