Dan Skipper, a member of the Lions team, is acknowledged by Dan Campbell during his impassioned postgame victory speech as he vomits.
The Lions have won 11 straight games.
All the Detroit Lions do lately is win football games.
The Lions, led by Dan Campbell, defeated the Packers to achieve an NFL-record 12th win on Thursday night. Campbell's risky fourth down decisions helped the Lions win 34-31.
The Lions head coach decided to keep the offense on the field on fourth down five times. However, the fifth time in the fourth quarter proved to be the most crucial. Despite quarterback Jared Goff tripping during the handoff exchange with running back David Montgomery, the Lions still managed to put Lions kicker Jake Bates in position for a 35-yard field goal attempt.
Bates split the uprights as the final seconds ticked off the clock.
After the game, Campbell, who was fired up, addressed the team in the home locker room.
"Campbell declared, "I warned you that you would never forget this game, and now the Lions players are cheering. We don't need to discuss our toughness or resilience; we embody it. We've been living it!""
During Campbell's passionate speech, he spotted Skipper leaning over a trash can in the locker room. On Thursday, Skipper replaced the injured Decker as the Lions' starting left tackle.
"Campbell said, "That's a way to lay it on the line," as he encouraged Skip to continue throwing up and doing whatever he was doing over there."
Despite facing 44 pass blocking plays, Skipper maintained a strong performance and allowed only one pressure.
Despite winning 12 out of 13 games this season, the Lions have faced their share of challenges due to injuries.
In October, Aidan Hutchinson, the star defensive lineman of the Lions, suffered a fracture in his left tibia and fibula. Although the injury may keep him out of the game for the rest of the regular season, he could potentially return to action in February if the Lions make it to the Super Bowl for the first time in their history.
Campbell exclaimed, "I'm so proud of you! That's the way to show up." He added, "You talk about pressure? We live in it. That's where we thrive. You did it again. It doesn't matter who's playing for us or what's going on."
"You always manage to succeed. This has been planned for a long time, man. We were supposed to be here together, man. We're meant for this. Just keep going."
The Lions host the Buffalo Bills Dec. 15.
