Caitlin Clark's growth as a rookie impresses NBA legend.
WNBA Rookie of the Year: Clark is the front-runner.
Despite being the top pick in the WNBA Draft, there were doubts about Caitlin Clark's ability to succeed in the professional ranks.
Throughout the demanding season, Clark has exceeded expectations and attracted large crowds, both in-person and on TV.
On "Don't @ Me with Dan Dakich," Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas stated that Clark possesses the "it factor."
"Thomas informed Dakich that she possesses not only scoring ability but also passing skills. He stated that when she first emerged from college, there was much discussion about her potential as a great scorer, but she later revealed her ability to drop dimes and pass as well. Now, her complete offensive prowess is being displayed."
Clark's skill in incorporating various weapons into her game, including selfless passes and a floating jump shot in the lane, was praised by Thomas.
Currently, Caitlin's dimes are coming through. She is averaging a lot of turnovers during the season. Next year, her teammates will get used to her not only passing the ball but also giving it to them on time, on target, catch, lay-up or shot. As a result, they are running.
"Basketball is showcasing creativity and originality as players transition on the court. As soon as they miss the ball, they are eliminated. They are running to their spots and getting there quickly because they know Caitlin Clark will give it up. The beauty of basketball is on display with Caitlin Clark."
This season, Clark is averaging 19.2 points and 8.5 assists, and has helped the Fever return to the playoffs.
In the second half of the season, Lexie Hull has emerged as a standout player, demonstrating her impressive game since the Olympics break. Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell has continued to excel, earning success alongside The Fever for the second straight season.
On Wednesday night, the Fever and Clark will be back in action against the Las Vegas Aces.
