Boomer Esiason advises Sauce Gardner on social media dispute with fans.
The Jets have lost four out of their last five games.
The New York Jets season has not gone according to plan.
Although Aaron Rodgers played in all ten games for the Jets this season, they won only three of those contests. In 2023, Rodgers was available for less than one full game after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 1.
Sauce Gardner has been frustrated this season, as evidenced by his recent social media dispute with football fans. Despite the tension, Gardner eventually removed his posts.
Boomer Esiason advised Gardner to put the phone down during "Boomer & Gio" and suggested that Gardner could spend his time more wisely.
"Esiason advised Sauce Gardner to put down the phone, saying, "The last two years, you've been praised as the best player at your position. Now, after a few bad games and missed tackles, people are criticizing you, and you're getting defensive.""
"Just play ball, man," Boomer advised. "I wish he would put it down and focus on improving his golf game during this offseason."
In 1988, Esiason, the league MVP, proposed a teacher-like approach if he were coaching in the NFL.
"As a coach, I would want to be like a school teacher and say, "Guys, let's put our phones in our caddies until after the game and focus.""
In October, Woody Johnson, the team owner, made the decision to part ways with coach Robert Saleh after the Jets' 2-3 start. Jeff Ulbrich was appointed as the interim head coach, taking on the role of defensive coordinator.
The Jets traded Davante Adams to the Raiders for a conditional draft pick, but the move has not significantly improved their win-loss record. In fact, the Jets have lost four out of their last five games.
The Indianapolis Colts will switch back to second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson on Sunday, as announced by Colts coach Shane Steichen on Wednesday. Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was benched in favor of Joe Flacco after Week 7.
