Arch Manning, the Texas star, has revealed his preferred NFL landing spot for his grandson, Archie Manning.
The SEC championship game on Saturday featured a brief appearance from Arch Manning.
Arch Manning went through a closely followed recruiting process before deciding on Texas.
The quarterback's family is deeply rooted in football, with uncles Peyton and Eli Manning and grandfather Archie all playing college football at Southeastern Conference schools before moving to the NFL. This year, Texas became a member of the SEC.
During his freshman year at Texas, Arch saw limited action. However, he played more this season, filling in for an injured Quinn Ewers as a starter.
Although Manning won't be eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft at 19 years old, his grandfather has already considered where the Longhorns star could potentially go if he makes it to the professional ranks.
The former New Orleans Saints quarterback would prefer to see his grandson play for the Dallas Cowboys rather than remaining at the college level for a few more years.
Manning stated in a TikTok video posted on Dec. 6 that nobody had ever asked him that question before, and if someone did, he would immediately respond with "Cowboys."
Although Archie does not have direct control over the events in a draft class with Arch, he has exerted influence in the past.
The Chargers drafted Eli Manning in 2004, but it is believed that his family, including Archie, advised the franchise against selecting him. Eli was eventually traded to the New York Giants.
Despite not reaching a conference championship game since 1995, the Cowboys are still considered one of the most prominent teams in the league.
This season, Manning has thrown for 939 yards, with nine touchdowns and two interceptions in seven appearances for the Longhorns. Additionally, he has demonstrated his versatility by rushing for 95 yards and scoring four touchdowns on the ground in 2024.
In the SEC championship game in Atlanta on Saturday, Georgia defeated Texas 22-19 in overtime. Manning had one rushing attempt that resulted in five yards.
